3 cases of Monkey Pox recorded in Rivers State

The outbreak that began in Bayelsa according to reports has spread to Rivers recording three cases of the monkey pox disease. This has been confirmed by the Rivers
The cases were reportedly recorded in Port Harcourt, the capital of the state.
Professor Princewill Chike, announced the incidents as he spoke with journalists on Friday, October 6. Chike said the three cases were discovered late Thursday, October 5, at Rumuolumeni, Eneka and Psychiatric Road area of the city. According to the commissioner, the three victims are currently receiving treatment at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).
The Federal Ministry of Health also advised Nigerians to avoid consuming bushmeat and dead animals, Punch reports. Prof. Adewole, minister of health, gave the advise to Nigerians on Thursday, October 5.
